Momentum Pole & Aerial is a local small business established in January 2017. We grew from a pole fitness one-woman-band into a wonderful playground for pole and aerial training across the Cotswolds that offers classes to adults of all backgrounds.
Owner and founder Anna has over 15 years of experience in both pole and aerial arts, coming to training as an adult with ZERO gym or dance background. Over the years, she’s found one thing she loves: being a nerd! About pole and aerial training, about the art of coaching, and about building a studio that centres community, empowerment and fitness done differently!
Her mission is to provide immersive classes that welcome and cater to every BODY, and allow people to enjoy getting a sweat on! We want people to find joy in movement and exercise, and appreciate their badass bodies for what they can do! Class is for you to enjoy, become stronger, grow a little more confident, hate exercising a little bit less, make friends and do something good for both your bod and your soul!
The teacher team at Momentum Pole & Aerial is made up of a bunch of knowledgeable, trained, insured, friendly and encouraging people who will teach you to master incredible feats! We all “get it” as quite frankly, most of us got picked last at PE and weren’t really that into exercise until we discovered pole or aerial as adults!

Anna Rohnbogner
Anna is the owner and founder of Momentum Pole & Aerial. She opened the doors to the studio in January 2017 and boy has it been a RIDE!
Anna has been poling since the summer of 2010, first twice a week at Pole Crazy in Bournemouth (epic school!), then as an instructor while studying for her PhD in Archaeology at the University of Reading.
Along came a move to Gloucester which was the moment when Anna decided to finally pour her love for teaching, pole and the aerial arts and her students fully into Momentum Pole & Aerial. Along the way, she’s picked up a lot of qualifications, masterclasses, training courses and certifications, enjoying training and teaching pole and aerial just as much today as she did back in 2010. Anna is an enthusiastic gym goer, avid reader, cello player, skier and hiker who feels most at home in the mountains (and on the sofa with her dog Bobby), owing to her roots in Bavaria.
Anna’s classes and Momentum as a company are built on a solid foundation of understanding the physical and mental benefits of pole and aerial arts, providing classes that are a safe space for students to grow their self esteem and body confidence, all while ensuring class feels a bit like a party 🙂

I’m Alex – a strength coach and professional hype-woman for turning “I can’t” into “watch me.”
I help women build strength, confidence and proper lifting skills without the all-or-nothing mindset.
Expect clear, empowering coaching, a plan that actually works, and the occasional disapproving “are you sureeeee 👀” when I know you can lift heavier… all with love, of course.

I teach the Intermediate/Advanced Aerial Hoop and Silks classes at Cheltenham Bournside!
I adore sharing my absolute passion for aerial arts with all the delightful students that come to class. I have dedicated the past fifteen years of my life to teaching and performing aerial and I love how natural it feels to share my knowledge with others in a class environment. I am a big believer in the great ability of aerial arts to positively affect people from all walks of life in one way or another.

Clare Kirkpatrick
I teach aerial hoop at Glos HQ.
I started training aerial hoop aged 43 having struggled all my adult life with poor mental health, yoyo dieting, very negative body image and really not loving exercise (other than dancing and yoga!).
Training with Momentum has changed my life and transformed my relationship with my body, helping me become the strongest, happiest and most confident I’ve ever been. And it’s the first form of exercise I’ve ever stuck at!
I’m also late diagnosed autistic and ADHD and I can honestly say I have never felt more like I belong in an environment than I do at Momentum, so if you are also neurodivergent, I can confidently say this is an amazing space to be in.
I love teaching and feel strongly about finding innovative ways to help others find their way into aerial arts so that they, too, can develop body confidence and strength and find joy in moving and challenging their bodies.

Chloe/Coco Bijou
I never felt I fit in at the gym or other classes and could never remain consistent. After looking at local pole classes, I signed up with a friend. I remember the first class being awkward and not knowing what to do with my body, but trusted the process and went back for another class – I haven’t stopped since.
After a couple of years in a local studio, lockdown hit and I started taking online classes with Momentum. I also passed my teaching qualification during this time, so in September 2021, I officially joined the momentum team!
Since then, I have continued my pole journey into competing, performing, hosting events and growing with momentum! The studio, team and students are so joyous and I couldn’t be a part of a better community 💜
I teach pole, heels, choreo and flow, and I also manage the Momentum IG social media!
Best part of the job: watching my students achieve stuff they never thought they could and believing in themselves!

To say that pole training and teaching has changed my life would be an understatement! Honestly I can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t love pole training, I simply adore it so much.

Pole has been a powerful source of strength, resilience, and self-connection for me. On even the hardest days, it brings me back into my body and grounds me in the present moment. It’s taught me how deeply healing movement can be—and over time, pole has become an anchor for my mental well-being.
Through this journey, I’ve learned to move in a way that’s honest and true to myself. That authenticity has been deeply inspired by the strippers and sex workers who built the foundation of pole dance—people who move with purpose, intention, and an unapologetic embrace of their sexuality. Their legacy has empowered me to explore and express my own sensuality with confidence!
Transitioning from student to instructor has been a continuous evolution where I’m always learning, always training, and still discovering new parts of myself through movement. One of the greatest joys of teaching is helping others go on that same journey—supporting them as they find their own voice, celebrate their bodies, and move with pride and freedom at every stage of their pole journey.

“I started my aerial journey as a student with Momentum in a mixed aerial class in March 2022. Was an aerial silks, sling, straps and hoop and it was so challenging, realised I had no upper body strength. But I wasn’t giving up. Came back to another mixed aerial class and realised I fell in love with aerial hoop. Took myself to a beginners hoop class and haven’t stopped hooping since! The confidence it gave me in my body getting stronger has been incredible. In Jan 2023 was asked to TA and I was over the moon. Love being a cheerleader for all the students. Now Sept 2024 am a qualified hoop teacher! Sharing the love for the sport.’
