We hear this all the time in pole and aerial class:
Use your core. Engage your core. Lift from your core. Core tight.
And yet, for so many of us, these cues mean literally nothing, because the question we have is HOW do you do it? And actually while we’re at it, what does it actually feel like to brace your core?
The core is a lot more than just your six pack, and as well as the abdominal wall, it also includes your back, pelvic floor and diaphragm. Just to throw a few more things in the mix!
As always though, knowledge is power, so getting a bit more familiar with your core, how it works and functions, and exploring different cues that allow you to tap into connecting with your core is the way forward.
