Many blog posts have been written, Instagram captions penned, heart to hearts had, tears cried and frustrations expressed. Of course we are talking about the dreaded pole plateau or when aerial feels less like flying and more like nose-diving.
Everyone hits a training plateau at some point or other, and it feels that no matter how hard you try, you just won’t get to the next stage. Perhaps you even feel like you are regressing, rather than maintaining and let alone progressing.
So what can we do about the plateau?
Like with so many wobbles we go through in our pole and aerial training, it is rarely the wobble or the plateau that is the problem – it is actually our reaction to the plateau that messes up the good thing we’ve got going.
